Brian Gilligan


Dr. Gilligan is a full-time instructor who teaches several courses in business and accounting. He is also the Chairperson of the College’s Department of Business Technologies. 

Brian Gilligan, a resident of Mount Prospect, was previously the Executive Director of the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission (ONCC). He joined the Commission as its second Executive Director in April 2000.  

Prior to joining the ONCC, Dr. Gilligan served in senior association management positions at the American Bar Association and the National Automatic Merchandising Association in Chicago, IL. 

Dr. Gilligan is a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve. He recently returned from an eight month deployment to Kabul, Afghanistan. In his Reserve carer he is the Regional Training Officer for the Naval Information Force Reserve (NIFR) DC Region, JB Andrews, MD.

He is a Trustee for the Mount Prospect Public Library, elected in 2011.  From 1999-2011, Mr. Gilligan was a member and secretary of the Board of Education of Community Consolidated School District 59, located in Elk Grove Township, IL. 

Dr. Gilligan possesses an M.B.A. from DePaul University in Chicago, a M.S. in Industrial Relations from Loyola University in Chicago, a Master of Accounting and Financial Management (MAFM) from DeVry University's Keller Graduate School of Management, and a B.A. in Government and Politics from Manhattan College in New York. He is also a Certified Association Executive (CAE) and Certified Meetings Professional (CMP).  In 2016 he received a Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) degree at Argosy University in Schaumburg, IL. 

Dr. Gilligan has taught accounting and finance courses at National-Louis University in Chicago, IL Concordia University and DeVry University in Chicago, IL, as well as workforce development and jobs skills training courses at Jobs for Youth and Junior Achievement. 

Dr. Gilligan resides in Mount Prospect with wife Janice and son Kyle.
