The CAD Advisory Committee held its annual meeting to discuss the progress of the CAD-Technology Program on October 24.
The committee is made up of College and high school faculty, Sr. Mechanical Engineers, Architects, Industry Managers, Supervisors, Designers, Project Coordinators, Administrators and former and current CAD Students.
Key improvements discussed included the dual screen stations and software upgrade for the students, 70” flat screens used for projection, new larger whiteboards and clock and new sound system.
Also discussed was the encouragingly high number of career opportunities available to, and actual hires of students in the program due to the partnerships that have been developed with companies via former CAD students.
New projects include the development of two semester Revit and Productivity classes to give Morton College's CAD technology students a leg up on the competition. The targeted date for implementation is Fall 2016 and Spring 2017.
