Achieving the Dream (AtD)
ABOUT THE INITIATIVE
In May 2009, Morton College was selected to be part of the Achieving the Dream Initiative. Achieving the Dream is a national effort to help community college students succeed, particularly students of color and low-income students. This is done through using data to identify areas of need in student achievement and implementing strategies to close those gaps.
Goals
• Instigate systemic thinking among college personnel for assessment and planning to improve student success
• Set priorities based on consistent, longitudinal data of student outcomes
• Develop the metrics to determine if targeted goals have been achieved
DATA AND RESEARCH
Morton College formed a Data Team composed of faculty, staff, and Institutional Research as part of Achieving the Dream. The Data Team will analyze data and share it with the Core Team and the Morton College community. The mission of the Data Team is to assist in the development of a culture of evidence using data to support decision making.
