Dead Book Sale
The Bookstore sponsors a Dead Book Sale in the fall to help fund a scholarship for students who lost their books because of unforeseen circumstances. The yearly sale takes place during the entire month of October.
A Love of Halloween Scares up Book Sale

Over the years, the Halloween decorations have grown to cover the entire bookstore. Most importantly, the program provides an excellent opportunity for students to get books at a great price, raise money for a good cause and enjoy Halloween in the process.
This month-long event raises money that goes to the bookstore's Emergency Student Loan Fund. The fund helps Morton College students replace lost, stolen, or damaged textbooks. It will also help fund a soon-to-be-established bookstore scholarship.
Because of the state of the economy, Morton College Bookstore Manager Gene Suire said the fund has become vital for some students and the store will likely be more generous in offering financial help. According to him, about 12 students utilize the Emergency Student Loan Fund each semester.
