Policy On Appropriate and Inappropriate Use of Campus Computing Facilities
The first priority for use of the computers in the Morton College Library is for academic research and support of College-related study.
According to Morton College’s Code of Student Conduct in the Morton College Catalog, the following is not allowed:
Abuse of computer time including but not limited to unauthorized entry into a file to use, read or change the contents; unauthorized transfer of a file; unauthorized use of another individual’s identification and password; unauthorized use of copyrighted material received or transferred over the network; use of computing facilities to interfere with the work of another student, faculty member of College official; use of computing facilities to send or receive obscene or abusive messages; use of computing facilities to access obscene Internet sites; use of computing facilities to interfere with normal operation of the College computing system; and use of computing facilities for personal profit or gain.
If a library user has been advised of these regulations and persists to violate the Code of Student Conduct, library staff will call Campus Safety to seek assistance in removing the user from the Library. In addition, if the library user is a student and repeatedly visits the Library and violates the College Code, he/she will be reported to the Associate Dean of Student Success for any disciplinary action.
