General Principles

Patrons must have a current Morton Library card to check out materials. Public library card holders must use ILL through their public libraries.

Damaged, Lost or Billed Materials

DVDs, Videos, & Tele-courses

VHS cassettes and DVDs can be checked out by faculty for 24 hours. Students may check out DVDs for 24 hours, but they must view VHS cassettes in the library. A Morton ID or Drivers' License must be left at the Circulation desk while viewing material.

Reserves

Materials placed on reserve may be obtained at the Circulation desk by call number, title and/or instructor's name. Reserves must be viewed in the library unless otherwise stated by the instructor. ID must be left at the Circulation desk while viewing material.

Reference Material and Periodicals

Reference Material and Periodicals are not checked out.

Laptops

Students are allowed to check out wireless laptops for Library use only. Student is required to present Student ID and a State ID. A 2 hour limit applies. See Laptop Policy to review our laptop check out policy. Laptop users will sign a special agreement before checking out laptops.

Interlibrary Loan

If you cannot find the material you need in the Morton College Library, you may wish to request an Interlibrary Loan. Interlibrary loan check-out periods and renewals are at the discretion of the lending library. See Interlibrary Loan Policy.
