Professional Attire Fund Program

Professional Attire Fund Program

Overview

The Professional Attire Fund Program is a Career Services initiative designed to support students who need appropriate professional clothing for career-related opportunities. This program helps reduce financial barriers by providing funding for attire required for interviews, internships, career fairs, networking events, and other professional experiences.

Purpose

The purpose of the program is to ensure that all students have the opportunity to present themselves confidently and professionally as they transition into the workforce or pursue academic and career advancement opportunities. Many students face financial challenges that make it difficult to purchase business-appropriate clothing, and this program provides targeted support to help bridge that gap.

How the Program Works

Students must complete an application explaining:

  • The professional opportunity requiring attire (e.g., interview, internship, or event)

  • Their current financial circumstances

  • How the support will help them achieve their career or academic goals

Applications are reviewed, and approved students are awarded a designated amount of funding to purchase professional attire. Funding amounts may vary depending on need and availability.

Use of Funds

Funds are provided specifically for the purchase of professional clothing and must be used for career-related purposes only. Students are typically required to:

  • Use the funds as outlined in their application

  • Submit proof of purchase (receipts)

  • Follow all program guidelines and deadlines

Funding is often distributed through gift cards or similar purchasing methods, allowing students to shop at approved retailers.

Program Guidelines

  • The Professional Attire Fund is generally a one-time opportunity for students during their time at the college

  • Approval is not guaranteed; applications are reviewed based on need and eligibility

  • Students must agree to program terms, including appropriate use of funds and compliance with documentation requirements

Impact

By providing access to professional attire, the program helps students:

  • Make strong first impressions with employers

  • Build confidence in professional settings

  • Increase their chances of securing employment or internships

  • Be currently enrolled or graduated from a certificate/associate program within three years.
