Paramedic

The Paramedic Certificate program promotes paramedicine as an allied healthcare profession. It envisions graduates entering the workforce as compassionate, knowledgeable and skilled entry-level paramedics with integrity to consistently provide quality healthcare to the diverse population of patients in their communities.

Paramedic Program Description

The core courses of the Morton College Paramedic program begin in August of each academic year and continues for one year (two semesters) as a full-time day curriculum. Each core course is offered once a year. Core courses must be completed in sequential order.

The program prepares Paramedic students to enter the emergency medical services field.

To graduate, the student must achieve of 80% or better in all Paramedic coursework.

Paramedic Program Clinical Experiences

Clinical experiences are designed to integrate classroom learning progressively into hands-on clinical intervention. With each clinical experience, students are expected to increase their competency and the level of their clinical skills and responsibilities.

Clinical experiences are offered throughout the program in both semesters.

Prior to beginning clinical education, students are required to obtain a criminal background check and undergo a drug screen. Students who have committed a felony or other disqualifying offense will be disqualified from being accepted into the program.

Paramedic Program Student Complaint Policy

Students are encouraged to contact the Program Director and Clinical Coordinator concerning any matter that is unclear about the course, policies, procedures, rules, regulations, probation, or any subject with which the student is having difficulty.

Students needing to contact the Program Director or Clinical Coordinator may call their office phones. However, due to flexible schedules, faculty may not be in the office. If there is no phone response, leave a message. Then, contact the faculty by their email address. Please include both faculty members in your email so we may best serve you.
