When Morton College’s new One-Stop Center opens in late May of 2022, it will transform how student services are provided with all core student services under one area.

The three-phase project requires Morton College to relocate various student services into temporary locations. Starting December 10th, the changes include:

Tutoring

 Beginning December 10, 2021

Morton College’s leaders are enthused about the project, which will house Academic Advising, Admissions and Records, Recruitment, Financial Aid, Counseling and Disability Services all in place. In addition, this creates new homes for the Student Union, Library and Tutoring Services.

“The guiding principles of the One-Stop Center starts with our students being the top priority,” Morton College President Stan Fields said. “It will improve the visibility, accessibility and flexibility of institutional services as well as prioritizes student self-service by eliminating physical lines and the bouncing from department to department our students currently experience.”

Services include:

  • Admissions and application process
  • Recruitment
  • Financial aid scholarships
  • Student accounts
  • Grades and transcripts
  • Registration and degree planning
  • Student records and personal information

“The One-Stop Center will offer students with a transformational, welcoming and vibrant experience and a central location for current and prospective students to seek help from our trained staff,” said Marisol Velazquez, Morton College’s Associate Provost and Vice President of Student Services. “The Center will provide a high level of service and support, and opportunity to modernize the way we serve and communicate with students, and will facilitate collaboration between staff.”

The project is broken down into three phases.

PHASE I – ONE-STOP CENTER Includes Academic Advising, Admissions and Records/Recruitment, Financial Aid, Counseling and Disability Services.

Construction begins December 10, 2021 and is scheduled to end May 27, 2022.

PHASE II – STUDENT UNION & 2ND FLOOR OF BUILDING B The Student Union, currently located on the 2nd Floor in Building C, will be relocated to the 1st Floor Building B. The Library will now occupy the 2nd Floor in Building B. Plus, there will be the creation of a new Faculty Collaboration Center and Career Services area.

Construction begins July 1, 2022 and is slated to end on September 24, 2022.

PHASE III – TUTORING CENTER

The Tutoring Center will be relocated to the current Student Union on the 2nd Floor of Building B. This will take place during Winter Break of 2022.
