Morton College Community,
Welcome to the 2021-2022 academic year! Over the last week or so, the campus has come alive again. Our campus is open, and we are ready to welcome all students!
The first day of every Fall semester at Morton College always is filled with great anticipation and hope. It’s higher education’s version of baseball’s “Opening Day,” where everyone starts even and dreams of celebrating earning that diploma or certificate.
From the moment 18-months ago when the pandemic turned our world upside down, Morton College has doubled down on providing support and additional resources for our college community to continue with its academic goals. Ninety percent of our classes will be offered in-person, but we’ll also have hybrid and online options available.
COVID-19 is top of mind for all of us at Morton College. We want to assure you that we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and have updated our policies and procedures to prioritize the health and safety of the Morton College community. All students, faculty, and staff are strongly encouraged to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as the best way to protect themselves and other members of our college community.
Masks or cloth face coverings are recommended while inside all campus buildings. We also have SHIELD IL conducting COVID testing on-site and will continue to facilitate access to vaccines. Visit the MC COVID Information and Resource webpage for more information. Whether you are enrolled in on-site or online degree programs, our campuses are open to all students.
Students are the heartbeat of any institution. Our classrooms and hallways have been quiet for too long without you. Our faculty is looking forward to being back in the classroom, teaching face-to-face. This year’s “Welcome Week” events take on even greater significance because of the length of time we’ve been apart.
You’ll be excited to see the changes we’ve made to Morton College in the last 18-months. After hitting the books, stop over to our state-of-the-art Fitness Center and hit the weights. Membership is free for all Morton College students and residents of District 527. It’s another way Morton College is reaffirming its commitment to help students reach their goals.

Nothing should stop you from achieving success in any way you choose to define it. This year, take advantage of every opportunity to develop yourself. This includes utilizing the many student resources and support services available to you.
Once again, welcome back to campus. We are excited to see what we will accomplish together this year.
